Total Bowling Touring Circiut.

After taking to Jason Thursday night and a couple of the ladies in Toowoomba. I suggested to Jase a way of increasing numbers and getting more ladies to bowl. Is to include a circiut for the ladies. Due to it is not good for some of the ladies that do travel they can't cover there costs either.
So here is a post to see what people thing.
Suggestion 1 Is to put 4 tournaments to make the ladies circiut eg Rocky if they come in, Toowoomba, Caboolture and say Gympie were numbers might not have been as good as the other events or the tournament that had the fewer numbers
Suggestion 2. Give the ladies a 8 pin's a game bonus
Lets hear what everyone thinks and how many Ladies would be interested
Please forgive me if spelling error and wrong word in place

With the first suggestion, would the circuit just be 4 rounds at 4 different centres for the women?

What would the pros and cons of giving the ladies an 8 pin's bonus for each other really?

I guess personally for me.. I wouldnt be bothered how it went because at this present point, the circuit how it is gives the ladies of gettin some sort of money back but still isnt enough. Having two dvisions proabably would be easier but that would mean you would need more ladies to bowl and hopefully get sponsors to sponsor the event which mostly likely wouldnt happen. I guess most people are just lookin at the money that is been put up for the event and isnt enough for peoples liking.

Personally I will probably start bowling the circuit next year whatever happens but hopefully what does happen, will benefits the ladies bowlers!!!

This is my opinion, and my opinion only........

Why does it always have to be about covering costs??? I bowl because I WANT TO BOWL, not because I am eyeballing prizefunds to see how much money I can make (haha!):D.

We all know that our sport, among lots of others, can be expensive, depending upon whatever level we choose to take it, but we choose to play it ostensibly because we love the game....prizemoney is, and should be, a bonus for a good days performance!

As for the lower lady numbers, it is a sad fact of life for tournaments across the country, with the exception of the Vic 150 and the Qld Ladies Classic. Most ladies are just not interested.......

Here is an idea.....many years ago when I first started bowling in Darwin, if you made the Rachuig/Deveer or Seniors teams, you were obliged to compete in 'X' amount of tournaments held within the state. Ok, so NT isn't really big on events, so it was fairly easy to fulfil. Why can't it be mandatory for state team members here in Qld to have to compete in a set number of events ASIDE from State Champs?? There are plenty to choose from, and what is important, the local ones such as the Touring Circuit, or Sports Series or even Twin Tour are NOT expensive in the general scheme of things. Bowl in one and decide that it WAS enjoyable, and continue to play in them all, which is what I found at Gympie. It was a GREAT event, even for a gumbie like me!

I personally do not like the idea of an 8 pin per game start for ladies....for me it would mean jack s**t anyway (!!!) and in any given game, some of the ladies that bowl are more than capable of mixing it with the fellas.
I am looking forward to competing in the series next year barring unforseen events, regardless of increased sponsorship or nout!;)

The problem is Broni that some of us have to look at covering costs prior to bowling tournaments. The main reason for this is due to general house hold costs, eg mortgages, food, school fees, etc.

I would like to bowl every single thing I could, now that my wife has come back to bowling she wants to bowl in as much as she can too. The truth is that we dont cash every time we bowl and we cannot afford to bowl in everything so we have to be very selective about what we bowl. We dont eyeball prizefunds we just look to make sure that we can afford it, if that means looking at covering costs, so be it.

Just my 20 cents.........

Try to get back on topic, I think its a good idea...nice one damo

That's a pretty big boat, Dale, and you can rest assured that we are in it as well! Perhaps the statement "eyeballing prize funds" was not particularly apt, but in fairness there are a lot of bowlers who won't compete in some events because the money isn't there. I suppose I was looking at it in the vein that our bowling money is to us what some households allocate for "entertainment", ie movies, eating out and the like. We are pretty boring old codgers who don't drink or smoke or have a life, so the entertainment expenses have to cover something, and it may as well be bowling!!!;)

Hi Guy's this wasn't here to have a dig at each other it is for suggestions to improve it for the women and the circuit. you both have got good poits.
