With the Aussie Open This Year being at Highpoint can anybody tell me if there is accomodation near by and where do i find it so i can book a room before they are all gone
Thankyou
Thanks Cam, also for all you Queenslanders looking at going down, there are still a few cheap flights left with ANSETT and VIRIGN. Better book soon or you'll pay heaps!!
Went for a drive around Highpoint yesterday, and there are no motels close to the bowl. Matt Rileys listing for the motel is about the closest, and thats about 5 - 7 mins from the bowl (drive)
Ill be going through my melways and seeing what else I can find, most likely trying to find a more budget style motel
G'day Cam hows things?, mate i was just wondering, im coming over for the aussie open, and was hopeing u could put me up for a few nights??, and i will supply the vodka (ubekistanian made) just let me know either way dude
HI! Try the Sunshine Motor inn, that is about 15 minutes drive from Hightpoint and is easy to find. We stayed there last year along with a heap of others, obviously it's closer to Sunshine but Highpoint is not far.
The rates were very very reasonable from what I remember.

Mark you can sleep in his sisters room .. and as for the Ubekistanian Vodka all I can say is keep the toilet free for a few hours in case some unnamed person needs a snooze
As for your snoozing habits Mr. Williams, I will be making sure any entries for "Australia's Funniest Photos" are NOT deleted on that weekend, as I'll be taking them with my camera, and not yours.
In all seriousness, 10-15 minute drives sounds like the go for people entering the 2002 Australian Open.
I will still be posting motels that are close to the bowl, but, I suggest people may want to find vehicles for that weekend.
Guys I spoke to the owner of the Quest appartments today. She is more than prepared to do a deal for the bowlers. This will include a shuttle bus to and from the bowl for each squad. There will be a small charge ($2) each way. The good news about this is that all the funds from the bus will be donated to the Vic Presidents shield team. Cameron can you call me as you know most people coming down. I will let you work out the finer details. Mikey Zent has my number.
I rang Quest Apartments last night and they quoted me : 2 Bedrooms $193- and 3 Bedrooms $237- per night. So can u let us know soon of the price so i can book as that price is a bit steep and is dearer than the price that matt quoted in a previous reply.
