I'm still standin'
to make a change from the negatives on this forum with regard to different bowling centres...
Last night whilst subbing in a doubles league at Aspley (and bowling rather well, I might add ), I had the misfortune to have one of my balls returned to the lane on foot via the mechanic at the back rather than via the ball return: it had been quite severely damaged at the back end of the lane following my shot. What made the damage worse was the fact that it was a BRAND NEW BALL, with barely 12 games on it, and it was rolling and hitting very very well!!
Conversation with the centre manager ensued, and he assured me that he would see what he could do with regard to replacing the ball by the end of the week if he could.
Suffice to say, less than 24 hours after, I have today received a phone call from George at Aspley, confirming that my new ball will be available for collection tomorrow night when I bowl league.
With some bowling centres on the receiving end of not so flattering remarks on this forum, I wanted to publicly thank George for going out of his way to make sure that I did not leave his centre with a bad taste in my mouth because of what happened with the ball. It goes to show that there are centres out there who do give a rats a***e about their customers, and are willing to go the extra yard to keep them happy and have them come back, be they league or social bowlers. Fortunately I bowl in two of them!!
