Has anyone here had difficulties in dealing with the TBA? What were the difficulties, and how were they resolved?
Cheers

After filling out the appropriate TBA sanction forms for a tournament in June and sending the fees directly to the TBA Victorian State Manager, I received confirmation that our event was correctly sanctioned.

During the event I bowled the following six game block - 233, 299, 244, 172, 300, 289 - and was looking forward to receiving my high game awards.

Four months down the track, and the TBA are saying that they are now unsure if the tournament was in fact accredited with the TBA from the start. They are still "continuing to follow this up".

What an absolute joke.

I bowled a 300 game in November 1999, before TBA decided to bring in the rule about paying for the ring. They lost the paperwork - twice - and now I have to pay for it if I wish to get one. This is the only problem I've had

Yes Daniel, some of us have had our difficulties with TBA, (in fact I may never return to their X-mas card list again.)
However I have had no recent problems in the area of awards. If they have the relevant award in stock, we get it and promptly too. I think there has to be a lot of detail that you haven't as yet disclosed and I don't think it would be right to comment on your problems without hearing the full facts.
From what I have seen lately TBA is very anxious to do business, so for them to cast doubts on the validity of the sanction makes me wonder about the true circumstances.

Daniel,
I guess at some stage we have all had our differences with TBA. I might add that I have had more than the odd altication with them.

However, not wanting to be accused of sharing their bed, I must say that of late they have lifted their game, and seem to be going along better than in previous years.

Having said that, I wonder if you have checked with your local association or centre to enquire as to whether they have actually followed the procedures to claim these awards? To many are quick to blame TBA, and that is no surprise given the past history, but if the correct procedures are followed, you should have no problems.

If there is a problem, I would suggest contacting the office and making an enquiry, they will tell you the circumstances behind any delays or holdups.

I for one, have had no problems in the last 12 months, in fact the service from TBA has been excellent. Our bowlers receive their awards in most case within 7 days, and if they do not, then I accept responsibility, and cop the flak!!

Anyway, nice bowling, hope you receive the awards that you have earnt.

Regards

John Wiffen

I would like to know results from the 2001 Junior Nationals - 5 months ago. I thought the TBA would have the results, but I have not any luck in finding out how to get results.
Pretty poor communications, I think.
