Tenpin Bowling Australia is bidding for the hosting rights for the
Women’s World Championships in 2009.
The Championship is expected to run during the last two weeks of August and include singles, doubles, trios, teams and masters events. The exact duration of the Championship will be dependent on the number of countries participating and the size of the centre which holds the event. This could include up to forty (40) countries with each country bringing up to six athletes.
The WTBA will make an announcement on the host country for the 2009 Championship in November 2006.
It's great for the sport that Australia is again seen as a major force in
international bowling and I could only begin to imagine that this event will be one where we all can gain a great deal of exposure.
