At end of May this year all State and Territory Adult Team selection trials have been completed.
For those bowlers who were not successful and wish to apply for the Draft, applications will close on June 30th.
Similarly, any State/Territory wishing to apply for Draft bowlers should notify TBA of the number of bowlers required for particular teams by June 30th.
The Draft process will be initiated by TBA in the first week of July, following the process defined in the Draft Policy.
To remind everyone of the TBA Rules regarding the filling of teams, the following clause is defined in the Policy:
“In the event that a State or Territory has only the required number or less than the required number of players nominated for a team at the closing date for nominations, no roll-offs are required. If there are less than the required number, the organizing committee will have to apply for the required players through the Draft process. The State Team Draft Guidelines are available on the TBA web site in the Rules and Regulations Section. If TBA advises the State or Territory that the Draft is depleted, the organizing committee can decide whether to try and fill the team from their own or any other State or
Territory by invitation or other means.”
Any State/Territory that had insufficient numbers for Seniors, Restricted or Rachuig teams at the closing date of their nomination period has to apply to TBA for the Draft to fill their teams.
Any teams that are short and filled from other sources, so bypassing the Draft process before the Draft is depleted, could, if any protests are received, be subject to having such bowlers scores deleted.
