Super Skins League - Ballarat

Hi all...

Just wanting some feedback on this one...

Thinking of starting up a money league for Ballarat. This league will be a TBAL Sanctioned league, open to Male, Female and Junior bowlers. It will consist of three scratch games, $20 per week, 10 week sprint season, with a $50 nomination fee to begin the league. Skins will be awarded to the bowler with the highest scratch total at the completion of each game. Will pay 1st, 2nd and 3rd games, aswell as the bowler with the highest series. (Note. Skins will be paid at the completion of the 10 week season). To win the skin, bowler must score 200 or better, and series 600 or better. Failure to do so will result in the skin jackpotting to the next game or next series, whichever occurs. A dress code will apply, similar to any tournament condition.

To give a rough indication of prize money...
10 bowlers will pay $25 per game and $25 per series...
15 bowlers will pay $37.50 per game and $37.50 per series...
20 bowlers will pay $50 per game and $50 per series....etc

Based on 20 bowlers, if you have a great night, you could walk away with $200 for your efforts for that particular week.

All going well, hoping to get some sponsorship for this league in the near future! Sponsorship will obviously mean a greater payout!

Awww poor woody no replies.

I bowl in this league and it has really been good for some of the bowlers in Ballarat to compete on a week to week basis with the possibility of winning up to $120 in one night.

This season has almost come to a close, and there have been a couple of modifications to next season. I encourage any one who wants to play for cash come and have a look. The seasons are short 10 weeks, so if you don't like it your not stuck for 6-8 months.

Once again this was a great idea and is running really well at persent would just like to see a few more interested bowlers.

Spot on Paul, as a member of this league in it's opening season, can report that it has been a great success. Prizes perhaps havent been as narrowly distributed over the weeks as we thought, as all bowlers have currently collected at least one skin. Would be great to really get this league going, as it is very unique and sports not only a great prize fund, but great people and good laughs. Get behind this guys, organise a car load and carpool each week, it really is worth your trip.

At present the league runs of a Monday night at 7pm. All wrapped up by 8.30pm.
The new season will begin on Monday the 18th of October, commencing at the same time, allowing perhaps a half an hour for a quick reformation meeting. As Paul mentioned, a few changes are being thrown in the mix to further improve the league for the new season...specific details will be posted a bit later on.
Like said guys, get behind this, give it a go, it's a 10 week sprint season, if you dont happen to like it (which is unlikely) your not locked in for an extended period...
