Just a Bowler
Sorry for the late posting but better late than never.
On sunday we had 31 bowlers (great turnout) play on a 47 ft Sport Pattern that wasn't high in volume. Sorry don't have a picture of it. Played like a reverse block considering the traffic on it.( 5 to a pair)
ECCC Ladies Rep Shellie VanDalen got to a flier opening up with a 267( high game for the event) with the field off to a bit of a slow start. Rachiug Rep Adam " Lacky " Lack got into his stride reeling off 5 200+ games to gain control and finish on top shooting 1683 for the 8 ( 210.3avg). 43 pins adrift was the consitant Andy Nobbs 1640 (205avg) and Aussie Youth Rep Ben Coupland was 3rd a further 73 pins back at 1567 ( 195.9 avg).
As usual there was a mad scramble to make the cut with Lee Matthey finishing 15th at 1450 (181.3). Unfortunately Luke Green had to leave which elevated Paul Chambers into the matchplay.
Ben and Andy started strongly to haul in Lacky after 3 games. Dale Stewart was slowing working his way up the leaderboard to put himself in contention with 2 to go. Going into the last game, 60 pins was separating Andy, Ben and Dale. Dale tried hard to haul in Ben but Ben held his nerve to punch out the tenth to Win his 2nd Sport Series event by 2 pins. Andy Nobbs finished 3rd, 52 sticks in front of Terry Wenban.
As always thanks to everyone involved from Sponsors, Scorers, Spectators and Bowlers.
From Everyone involved in the Sport Series we wish those involved in the upcoming East Coast Challange Cup, Seniors Challange, Walter Deveer Challange and Rachuig all the best.
Next Event is on the 28th Oct at Caboolture ( i think ) so lets see if we can get a few more to enjoy the CHALLANGE...
