If one looks at the recent spot rolloffs history by running event spot rolloffs on the same day and time it is clear the centres are just cutting each others throats. As in this particular case they are all AMF centres it particularly does not make sense.
Here is a proposal for those centres running major events to help eliminate this problem for not only themselves but more importantly for the bowlers.
The centre running a major event should accept nominations to reserve spots for rolloffs from other centres once entry forms have been made available. The centre holding the major event will get first choice of a day and timeslot to run a rolloff for a spot in its own event. After which it will accept reservations for spots from other centres for rolloffs.
However in order to obtain a spot in a major event the other centres will nominate a proposed date and time to hold their rolloff. If this date and time clashes with a rolloff already recorded then they will not be able to reserve a spot and have to change their proposal.
Bowlers could contact the host centre at any time to find out if a rolloff for a spot advertised at another centre has got a guaranteed spot on offer. This would ensure bowlers can enter knowing they will be guaranteed a spot in the major event.
An event on the same day would be allowed providing that their is at least a six hour gap between the checkin times for both events. This ensures maximum benefits are gained by not only the bowlers but also the bowling centres. This would allow most bowlers to be able to bowl in both and also allow both centres to get enough bowlers to be able to viably offer the spots. After all at the end of the day bowlers would like to have both opportunities to win a spot and the centres are running the event to make some money out of it.
If any one has any further suggsetions feel free to enlighten us as we are all in favour of a better deal for us all with regards to these events.
