18 bowlers turned out for the first event ever held at Marion Bowland on the 23rd May. Three Victorians decided to cross the border in an excellent show of support - thanks to Troy, James and Dean.
One of them, Dean McKinnon from Mildura was the eventual winner in a close finish. He finished 13 pins clear of the runner-up, Michael Mittiga (203-190).
The free entry award went to Carl Quaremba, while Steve Doecke's 234 in the second game earned him $50.
The next event will be held in Mount Gambier on the 20th June. We have managed to attract a very cheap game rate so the prize fund will be a lot bigger, providing we get some encouraging numbers that are willing to travel....
