Another successful Twin Tour Stop at Caboolture Bowl with a field of 69 Balls and 39 Puffs. Michael Czapp (243.0 hcp.ave.) came out the winner for the 2nd time this year with 299 bowler Joe Gatt taking 2nd place - 29 pins in arrears . Mathew Carey (4 pins behind Joe) made the trip from Mackay to finish in 3rd place in both Handicap and Scratch divisions. It was good to see some of our young talent in the money - Mitchell Hennessey, Hayden Manskie joining the more ‘senior’ bowlers Maurice Fadl, Mike Sullivan and Grant Barsby. Ryan Coombes has also shown big improvement since joining the Tour last year.

Alicia Melton was glad of a return to form after a lacklustre performance at Richlands (along with many others!) and headed fast finishing sister Bek and Faye Bottomley. Kylie Waddell was thrilled with her 4th place and another long distance traveler, Leesa Bartlem took 5th position. Stella Alford cashed after being worn out on Saturday night cheering for the Lions - a mad fan !!! Another newcomer to the Tour was Tiffani Murphy who also made some $$$ to keep her coming back.

Faye Bottomley was dominant with 220.6 scr. ave. but still only finished 3 pins ahead of Alicia in the Puffs Scratch. Darryl Alford collected well for the weekend with placings in Handicap (9th , Scratch 1st with 237.4 ave. and Scratch Pool.) Brendan Meads (233 ave.) and Mat Carey (231.7 ave.) took out 2nd and 3rd.

There was the usual mixture of squads and averages in the money payout and the Prize Fund for the weekend including the Scratch Pool of $460 was $5470.

Many thanks once again to the bowlers who continue their support and are prepared to travel to compete - bowlers from Mackay, Rocky, Bundaberg, Kingaroy, Toowoomba and Gold Coast are mad enough to bowl Sunday morning at 8.00am so their dedication is most appreciated - the only bowler spotted having a ‘nanna nap’ after lunch was John Whillans and his excuse is the XXXX he has when finished !!!!!!

The sponsors are always sooooo important - Vic Wilkins Landscapes was most disappointed that he was unable to hand over the $100 for a 300 this weekend.
However, we may just snare him to contribute to the Silly Season Doubles in December - collected a bottle of Bundy from Dale Stewart and Vic also - thanks!

Attaching the sponsor sheet and please take the time to have a look and support wherever you can … thanks also to Total Bowling for providing the BEST way for bowlers to contact, nominate and swap squads - invaluable. The TEAM continue to do their jobs with good humour and dedication. (Bribes to be paid later, guys)

Lucky number winners: Daryl Purnell, Rob Piotrkowski and Tony Roffey (the QUIET sponsor !!!) TAMERETT Awards went to Aaron and Rocky.

NEXT TOUR STOP: IPSWICH 15th/16th August.
