Just wanted to recap the great week we had in Malaysia at Sunway Mega Lanes. We stayed in the awesome Sunway Pyramid Hotel attached to the Sunway Mall and Aquatic lagoon theme park and it was a 5 minute walk to the bowling centre also in the Mall.
The week started with an opening dinner and drinks and a good time was had to the wee small hours and some drink was consumed. The week starts out with Teams, then Doubles and singles with the All-Events being the qualifying for the Masters. The Masters takes the top 40 for a six game roll-off, with pinfall dropping, then another six games to determine the winners. Australia had some great success with the following:
Sarah Knowland - Gold in Teams, Doubles and All-Events plus a third in the Masters
Val Porteous - Gold in Teams, Doubles and Singles
Terry Wenban - Gold in Masters, plus a 300 to win the U$3000 prize.
The closing dinner was excellent with great entertainment to send off new found friends and celebrate the great week.
Next year it will be held in Hong Kong and it will be a great time catching up with new found English friends in early April. This year there were players from far and wide including, Mexico, Hawaii, Australia and Guam plus all throughout Asia. If anyone is interested in next years event just message myself and we can put you in touch with Roger Yap.
