Cmon Bruv, you didn't need a crystal ball to know that things were going to change, as apart from young grasshopper (androo) who was well clear it was fairly tight all the way down. Despite what some people thought, I knew Paul L wasn't too far back and he made it fairly comfortably in the end. It looks like a fairly well balanced team, with a good variety of shots on offer. If Paul L can behave himself and stay of the pi$$ he will be an asset to the team, we have lacked a good lefty who can play the whole lane for a while.

Well done to all who made the team and best of luck at the nationals. Bad luck to Cricky, but I'm sure he will be back bigger and better than ever for the home Rachuig next year.

scooter,in my defence,i have only one thing to say,i have too much blood in my alcohol system, hahahahahahahahahahaha . I went to the doctors today and i found out i have a broken bone in my foot, you will have to guess what foot lenth that is,well done to everyone who made it,lets kick sum butt when we get over there and bring home the holy grail

Im just looking at the 274 that androo bowled in the last game...

XXX XXX XX5/ XX9

Was a quality 5... 1-2-4 with the 6-10

Congrats to everyone who made the team.

Pauly, Pauly .... that's a solid defence ..... however .... we all know what your capable of down here, here's hoping you can show everyone else while your away what you can do as well.

Good to see you mixing it up a bit Androo .... obviously got a bit boring out front so you thought youd throw a 5 count in there to live'n things up. Going on the area you had the other night, you must have nissed by a fair way! lol

That's why you qualified 7th. Couldn't bowl at Launceston and when you were still out of the team on Sat, was going to pull out. Need I say more about your mental outlook?

Going away wont be the same without u. Also bad luck to brett u bowled so well since u havent been bowling much u did every well.

The way you have been bowling at Moonah in leagues apart from your once off high games you cant back your mouth up. From a bad back when bowling bad to a chipped bone in the foot apparently, really you aint that good mate

Firstly, let me say that I can't believe I find myself defending old Pauly!

But here goes ...... I don't think you would get many arguments from most people, that at times Lucock's attitude, dedication and behaviour have been questionable - at best! HOWEVER, for those that have been around long enough, what is NOT in question is his ability. He is most likely the most talented bowler in the state (no offence to anyone else) and by far our best lefty. You don't win back to back State Masters and for that matter bowl 300's (back in the eighties when they were tough to do) without plenty of ability, and there's plenty more you could put there in achievements etc.

So Pauly, while I am backing you up here, it's also time for you to start showing everyone what your capable of (and reminding the rest of us).

My main point is, while you may not like someone, you may not agree with the way they carry on, whatever your beef is, it just plain silly to make statements/comments that just don't stack up.

Give him a game for a $100 and see how good he is!!

i wouldnt want to play him a hundred bucks a game. wether you like him or not the guy can bowl and more oftne than not turn the strike button on and off at will, ive seen him do it many a time. still in my view one of the most talented guys i have seen, needless to say though there are a fair few more talented bowlers our state have to offer

griggsy says "needless to say though there are a fair few more talented bowlers our state have to offer"

not sure more talented is the right choice of words. more dedicated, better performed and more consistent would fit the bill, not many, if any stack up for pure talent!

Scott is correct about Pauls talent. If he had 1/4 of a brain he probably wouldn't be bowling in this country. But since he is lacking that, there goes the mental side of things. Bit like on the Sat at Moonah during the rolloffs. First 8 in game 3 shoot 260 - head (not brain) goes walkabout - 160, 170, 150. Nice finish.

I will say this though. If Paul decides to actually concentrate on bowling this year at Rachuig, and not look through bourban coloured glasses and think with his tool, HE WILL BE AN ASSET TO THE TEAM. It's been a long time since Tasmania has had a half decent left hander in a team. Otherwise, get out and let someone who will give 120% in the team.

Boris - Couldn't agree more with your comments. The moment Paul decides to be fair dinkum about tenpin and become an asset to our Rachuig team, the richer Tassie bowling will be for the experience. Having now been a part of 3 Rachuig campaigns I'm a firm believer that a talented and COMMITTED lefty is nearly essentail to winning Rachuig (note: we have been VERY close without one!) but I think it is quite important to our chances .... but not essential!

In the overall scheme of things we far out perform our rival states when you consider the amount of bowlers we have to choose from in comparison to VIC, NSW, QLD etc.

Don't get me wrong, because I think this years team has a realistic chance of success if they put it together on the week in question, but really I think we have a HUGE chance of winning the Mens Rachuig trophy next year at Moonah if we can put together the right team! Obviously it will be a big rolloff with quite a few bowlers on the 'comeback' trail, and I see it as a huge opportunity to repay blokes like Ashley and Gazza who have been relentless in their pursuit to put Tassie on the map as far as Rachuig is concerned. These blokes (and friends of many) want nothing more than to be involved in a Rachuig win! To bowl a Rachuig in your home state will be huge, and I for one will definatley be there to support even if I miss in the roll-offs!

I know we have got off subject a bit, but Rachuig is a fairly emotional subject in any state becuase it is held in such high regard. I just really hope we get the absolute maximum numbers attempting to roll-off next year - with both weekends held in Moonah - because lets face it, that just makes sense! And we get the strongest team possible to represent us. Its certainly rekindled my passion for the sport (having the Nationals down here), and I will be making my 'comeback' very soon. That's no doubt boring news for most, but I'm looking forward to getting back into it! and hopefully that's the case for quite a few others.

Getting back to the subject, Pauly, knuckle down and get stuck into it. Your a great bowler and Tassie needs you to show it. Tassie has a great reputation within Rachuig for partying hard and enjoying the trip which I have certainly been part of, but we also try to put some results on the board the next day to back that up, its all about knowing your limits and not going to far. You still have a few believers out there, and we know you have the goods to produce!

Ive written far too much. Thats all!
