pwba president john falzone told bowlers journal international that unless an influx of cash arrives within the next two weeks, the pwba tour will shut down following the women's collegiate/pro challenge in rockford, on june 15th.
"when we finish in rockford we will, in fact, be out of money," falzone said, "and there are no additional dollars coming from the current ownership. it's not going to happen."
it's not just australia that is struggling to get people to bowl tournaments the last two pwba events had fields of 40 pro and 13 amateurs, and 43 pro's and 4 amateurs. it cost the pro's $250us entry fee and the amateurs $300us with 32nd place getting $475 and to make the cut , top 24 gets min $1000. the money seems good enough so were are all the bowlers??
MAYBE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH NOT A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD!!!
