Well last day of bowling was yesterday in the teams and the mens team was 3rd with a game to go and was close to the silver. Some things just didnt fall our way and we finished a dissappointing 5th.

Overall it was a good trip, the spinners dominating preceedings for most of the tourament, the first time in about 4 years. The lanes were brutual and everyone in the team had a 150 or less at some stage. The challenge of bowling on long and short patterns highlights the coaching pathways we need to put in place to be successful on the world level. From now on, all major International events well feature long and short patterns, testing bowlers skill and ability.

Whilst Australia only walks away from this event with a silver medal (Emma and Ann Maree), we will put this trip down to a steep learning curve on what has to be done to better our athletes in Australia.

A great trip nether the less and we all look forward to returning to Australia today. Thanks to all the people who sent emails and text messages, your support was well appreciated!

Forgot to mention that Jason and Ann Maree qualified for the masters and are currently finishing their 8th game on the long oil. 7 games to go on the short plus a positional round plus a step ladder.

Ann Maree is 3rd after 7 games, Walshy is 9th after 7 as well. Good luck guys make sure you stop those spinners taking anymore medals!
