pattern for ipswich

here is the pattern for ipswich it is from the pwba 2001 albuquerque open, to make the top 24 u needed a 200.66 ave for 18 games and to be in the top 5 after matchplay u needed a 218 ave, there were 4 right handers and 1 lefty in the top 5.

Sport Pattern??? dont think so Jeff, with that much reverse oil and a fair chunk in the guts its going to give almost everyone some amount of hold.

Yes a PBA pattern but I dont think this one would fall into the sports category. It will be interesting to see how it plays on Ipswich's wood lanes, I'm guessing scores will be considerably higher than what we've seen this year.

I wont be here for it, I'm backing Carl in clean up by 50 (thats if he's bowling). Are you giving the bowlers a carrot to come back to the rest of the events scheduled for the rest of the year?

george this pattern was used in the albuquerque open may 26 - 31, 2001. the pattern was put down by the foundation and meets all requirements to be called a sports pattern. if u would like to check on this please go to www.foundation300.com website then click on the tournaments look at the pwba section all the details are there. i have attached the sheet that is used to program the kegel machine so you can have a read of it !!!!!!!!!!!

as for giving bowlers a carrot to come back for the rest of the series the answer is no!!! i have looked at the patterns we have used so far this year - caboolture 50 ft long oil , mt warren 42 ft now at ipswich a 38 ft pattern , i think the bowlers who bowl the series want a variety of patterns so they can test themselves on different patterns.

even by the table you have posted it states

"Sport pattern with less conditioner on the 2 board designed to be as close as 2:1 ratio as possible. Good scoring sports pattern"

Jeff, this may just fall under the Sports guidelines and is very condusive to high scoring. Any Kegle pattern featuring reverse oil tends to have area for most bowlers, even on the fresh.

I really dont mind too much what patterns you put down, but after the opening two events I think your making this one a little more bowler friendly than most. If you want this one to be a little easier just say it, dont go grasping at the whole SPORTS concept because its only a name given to conditions that fall under certain guidelines.

Yes some SPORTS patterns are more condusive to scoring than others, this one rates a 9/10 for scorability. Why dont you just tell bowlers that.........

well george i have no idea what the scoring will be like down at ipswich but i am looking forward to see what happens if the scoring is better than the first 2 stops then the pattern is easier than the first 2 simple, but as with most of the patterns we have bowled on it will test everyone and with a new centre who knows what will happen.

as for picking the pattern it had more to do with talking to dino at ipswich and he was worried if we put down a long pattern it would be like bowling on 60 ft of oil, so i looked for a shorter pattern and this was the 1 that i picked. i will stand behind the pattern and if the scoring is high i will take the blame if the scoring is low i will also take the blame.

i am not trying to make things easier for anyone i look at what we have bowled on in the past and look to give the bowlers something different and challenging to bowl on.

Hey George, maybe you should be bowling this if you think it is easier than the last one. At least this way you might not bowl with 2 hands, or right handed and spit the dummy again.
As Jeff said he doesn't know what will happen. So if Carl blows the place apart, then good luck to him. Who knows, maybe I could get lucky and blow the place apart, either way I will keep trying whatever this pattern does.

I'd love to bowl but I have more important touraments to attend to worth 15 x more money :D

you guys bowl and a great time without me

Jeff and George

Don't you think its about time you both KISSED and made up!

Either that or book a ring, sell some tickets (i know it would be a sell out) and done the gloves for a 12x3 minute round full contact and donate all money raised to the next sport series prize fund.
