No TV Finals For Vili's Super League

I would like to thank all those responsible for not making the Tenpin Bowling Show not happen this week-end all because of Money and Politics.

From what I can gather AMF pulled the pin on sponsorship from the Tenpin Bowling Show, And the fact it is now sponsored by private Centered Group, which brings in the politics of not allowing the filming in a AMF house, even if we covered the signs up.

It's all about who pays what and who doesn't these days and guess who are the people that miss out...............it not hard.

One day these people might put there differences aside and actually think they might do the sport some justice and have unconditional support for this sport that is already suffering enough of recent times!!!

Maybe Vili's league should look at moving the league out of the AMF centre into a private centre move interested in promoting the sport.

Just so we have a better understanding Tony, are you having a shot at the Tenpin Bowling Show?

If so, I find it hard to imagine how they can survive without sponsorship from the centres they film in. I know how much time and effort goes into each and every show, and I think it only fair that centres pay for the advertising and promotion both the sport AND the centre gets from the Tenpin Bowling Show when the production is being filmed.

Both times Tony and his crew have come accross for the VSS finals, I have found the money for them to come accross, and I wouldn't expect it any other way.

You may have been in an AMF centre for 20 years, but how many times have you had the HONOUR of being supported by the Tenpin Bowling Show?

Why support a centre or organisation that wont or does'nt obviously have the best interest of the sport in mind. This policy for AMF is nothing new.

Maybe if a "private centred group" are sponsoring the Tenpin Bowling Show
the league should be supporting these centres if you want TV coverage at the end of season.

Cant complain in future if you know the score with AMF. Problem's easy to solve.

You want TV coverage for finals. MOVE. Support the centres supporting the Tenpin Bowling Show.

You dont want TV coverage for finals. STAY WHERE YOU ARE.

Just want to point out that I am not having a go at the Tenpin Bowling Show. Tony and his crew do a fantastic job, it's just unfortunate that his hands are tied. And he has to look out for his own best interest.

A lot of major tournaments I'm sure are suffering the same fate!

Its funny how whilst sitting at the Rachuig listening to the powers that be how AMF are promoting Bowling and putting all this money in. Now they have pulled sponsorship to only TV coverage they have is this country.

A number of private centres run great tourneys that are supported by their local bowlers as well as some of the "top" bowlers in Australia.

Secondly I might be misinformed - but tell me where all this amazing amount of information is kept. To be misinformed I need the information in the first place.

The only decent Tournnament in A private Centre in SA is berri....

I am sure we can get a list of tourneys if we ask people to post about those run in centres other than AMF but that isn't the point. Just because there are issues in some centres does not mean that there are not other centres that have equivalent (or sometimes better) things going on that could be filmed.

Maybe so Gary but This thread is talking about one of the highest paying petersons in the country (over $30000).

I will say again about this post and I'm sure it applies to many other "OPEN" events around the country...............that won't get filmed because of Politics.
The bowling community suffers because of it.

Many a good event will not be filmed. A step backward if you ask me!

While I respect your comments (and your claim to flame as a bowler) Gary here I am annoyed that the Tenpin Show will not cover all areas of the game. (Again nothing to do with the good job Tony and his crew does).

As for Filming...I wouldn't want to watch just any old league game or match on TV...I would only be interested in watching Quality matches as such and Major Tournaments...

As for why they can't or why they can film, perhaps Tony from the Tenpin Bowling Show or Brenton the shows Technical Advisor and Commentator could shed some light on the subject so the rest of the bowling community, so that they don't make up rumours and start this thread into a **** fight like many others do...

I suppose Jase, every-one has there own preference in what they want to watch, there are episode of the show that bore me to tears too.

The Vilis' league and I suppose I'm a bit bias to this league, but don't class it as you have put it any old league. There are not too many of these that payout the prizemoney that it has for offer, and I suppose Loiuse Ingo would also have something to say after her victory against Brenton manning (another of you old league bolwers) in the last TV Finals.

As to keeping to the script of these posts...I agree!

My point is that there is no point just having a show full of League matches, yet not taping some of Australia's best competeing in a Major final of a Major Tournament (that is of course if these events still do exist...

Bowling isn't the only sport that have these issues...I think the Wallabies at one stage couldn't play in a certain jersey because of a rival sponsor who had the rights to the ground sponsorship...

Unfortunately its the fans who do suffer...No one wins from this kind of stuff...But sometimes you have to do things that protect the hip pocket that you don't always agree with...

Actually I might just point out to everyone else the format with Vili's TV Final is.

At the end of the season the top 5 go straight into the TV Shootout.
Thes rest of the field bowl a 1 game play off to with the highest game making up the 6 in the TV Shootout. Top 6 draw out of the hat to see what position they get to playoff.

1st place is $1500
2nd place is $500.

Now this money is on top of the 1st = $4000 , 2nd = 2500 ...etc paying down to last place which is usually around $100+

Every 1000 series gets $500
Every Bolwer with a 200 ave gets $100

We had 6 300 thown this season sharing $100

Alot of Sporsorship from Vili's goes into this which makes it a Super League.
