New bowler, ball help.

Might sound like a very silly question to most, but being a new bowler, and have zero experience in anything ten pin, apart from playing with kids and friends.

What is meant by the term, 1st drill etc ?

I'm looking to get more involved in the sport, as my 2 kids play, but have no idea where to start, and didn't want to go out and buy some used equipment for it to be no good, due to my lack of knowledge.

Hi bumpy...

First drill means someone is selling a ball that had been used by them and has only been drilled for them. Ie drilled once to fit them presumably.

2nd drill 3rd drill etc means they have bought it from somone and had it plugged (holes filled in) and re drilled (2nd drill) or they drilled it for themselves and then had it adjusted as it wasn't what they wanted.

Another term you may see is NIB = new in box. Essentially it has never been drilled.
