Hearing in the media lately that Mars is going to be the closest to Earth it has ever been for a long long time, I decided to dust off the cobwebs from my telescope and catch a glimps. Now, I know it is suppose to be at its best later in the month but from what I have seen tonight it was a bit of a let down. Jupiter on a normal night seems to be better to me. Also for a planet they call the "Red Planet" it is awfully greyish-white. Was wondering if any other star gazing fans have had a better experience so far?
