Many thanks to the staff at Logan City, to the bowlers who have made it a promising start to 2010 and to the TEAM as usual. Naturally, the sponsors keep the Tour viable and Vic Wilkins had to find the $100 for the first 300 of the year to Alicia Melton ... congratulations and the first female 300 at Logan also.
87 Balls and 37 Puffs contested on a hot and humid weekend and some of the new Twin Tour bowlers did have a little struggle with the 10 games but were confident that next time they will know what to expect! Great to see so many 'young' bowlers joining and the experience they will gain may swell the ranks of some Open events and Assn. Challenge teams also. A few new above 50's also have proven themselves already so Seniors - watch out!!
Andrew Christopher took out the Balls Hcp. with Christopher Thompson and 'old bloke' Graham Hall in 3rd. Good to see Sean Bowling & Pat Rahilly representing the young followed by a group of Seniors, Tama Hati, Jagga Morgan, Looby and Terry Yendle also up there. Returning bowler, Jason Beecher cashed along with 2009 Bowler of the Year, Peter Mifsud and 300 sponsor Vic Wilkins. Well done to all.
'Scratch Balls' was dominated by Brendan Meads with 244.8 ave. (minus 44 for next Tour Stop) and Andrew Christopher with 232.7. The ever consistent Darryl Alford bowled a good 228.6 and Looby in 4th with 224.2. Some nice minus handicaps for Strathpine.
Brit Houldsworth showed her class with a great 233.0 hcp. ave. to lead the Puffs Hcp. division with Alicia Melton and Rebekah Meads following. Vanessa Sumner and Donna Adams excelled themselves to take 4th & 5th. Good to see sponsor Broni Morgan back in form also.
Puffs Scratch was dominated by Alicia (224.1) with sister Rebekah (219.3) striving all day to catch her. Brit's 215 was almost good enough.
TAMERETT Awards went to Shayne Melton and Esther Nollert.
Nice also to see Adrian Shelton, who turned up for a while - minus XXXX and looking better than expected .... get well soon.
To those who have cashed, if you could contact me regarding your Prize Money, it would be appreciated. Your $$$ can be rolled over for next Tour Stop, it can be transferred to your account or a cheque if you wish.
If you have enjoyed yourselves - please tell your mates - we always need more bowlers .... if you haven't, don't tell others - just tell me!!
