how legit are they?

Hey just need some peoples opinions.

Has any one ever ordered bowling balls overseas and had them shipped out? how legit are they? and has any one ever been ripped off?

cause im looking at getting a ball from bowlingball.com
 
there has already been a post on this about two weeks ago - called buying direct usa. :)

I've looked into this as well and think for the trouble, it's easier to get a ball from one of the shops off this forum.
Depending on the ball, performance balls in the U.S are usually around $130-140us. Postage for a 15lb ball to Australia is around $120 (using the courier on the bowlingball.com site) unless you can get postage alot cheaper, after conversion you'll be looking looking at around $300au. You'll get most balls here for that price, with postage often thrown in as well.

sorry, dont come read all threads so sometimes miss things. doesnt seem like a good idea, but every where in oz doesnt have the ball i want. :(
 
I was the one who had the trouble and i only bought it because at the time i couldn't get the ball i wanted(what are you trying to buy??),but i also had good dealings with overseas sellers and had no trouble so it's take a chance and hope for the best.PM me for more information if you want

Max at BBA has 26 types of VIZ-A Balls to choose from…I am sure he could even help you find what you are after, if not there are other Online Pro Shops to try here at the link below…

hey sorry jase, i have tried all oz links that i could find and nothing to pevail. have also emailed max about it a few days ago, and he is looking into it
 
Due to licensing agreements with Brunswick, a lot of the Vis a Balls cannot be sold in Australia. Visit the Brunswick web site and it will show you which balls are licensed to which areas of the world.
You may be able to buy it from an online American site, but only shipping 1 ball will cost you an arm and a leg or take 3 months to get here.

The problem you are running into when looking for a viz-a-ball is that Brunswick only purchase an advertising license for certain balls from the range for Asia-pacific region and not the rest (such as disney, alcohol brands, NFL brands etc.) so the Brunswick distributor here in Oz aren't allowed to sell them.
Having said that, there are some places here that can get in any ball for you as they purchase direct from the US. I'm sure if you contact Max at BBA and explain to him what you are after, he can either help you or point you in the direction of someone who can.

it isnt a brand of a ball that im after e.g. alcohol, or nfl... but i have been in contact with max from bba and been in touch, and he said that he thinks they have stopped making the ball, but its an exclusive on bowlingball.com ... so he said he would keep me in the loop as hes getting in contact with them...

if it falls through who would be likely to get 1 direct from the u.s. as you said phluff?

Max can get you anything..... for a price, from that latest release ball to a 6ft blonde princess/prince (depending on preference) and even a slightly used colostomy bag :D
