Help from a Hobart local please.....

I'm still standin'
On a much earlier post in this section, there was talk of 2 accommodation places being very easily accessible to Moonah Bowl - The Carlisle Hotel, which is "next door" to the bowl, and Martin Cash Motor Inn, which isn't too far away either.

When I search both of these locations with regard to how to get to the bowl, "whereis.com.au" indicates 10 minutes by foot. Could someone who knows please indicate if that is a true assessment, or are they actually a lot closer to the bowl than that. I will be staying at one or the other of these places during the nationals, and will be relying on footpower to commute back and forth, so any input would be greatly appreciated ;) .

10 mins walking slowly. On the way, you can stop in at Maccas and get breakky. The Carlisle and Martin Cash are next door to each other.

so the distance is easily dealt with by a bowler who wouldn't quite make a 6 on the beep test then??;)

thanks Androo, much appreciated :)

Hi Broni & Jagga,

I guess it depends on your walking speed so I thought the actual distance would be more helpful.

I have just measured the walk on Earth Google and it is 600 metres from Martin Cash Motel to the bowl with the Carlyle Hotel 520 metres.

I am sure Jagga would only take 3 minutes to jog that distance.

See ya soon.

Kind regards

Thanks guys....tho John, Jagga will already have departed your fair city and be back slogging it at work to pay for my extended stay!!!

just lucky I can revive at Maccas on the way - those skin fold and lung capacity tests have me worried now!!;)

appreciate the assistance, looking forward to getting there and bowling - not long now.......

I will advise you to not carry 2ball totes to the bowl! I carried ONE of mine earlier in the week to my work which is next door to the martin cash and it got rather heavy!

I always stay at the Martin Cash when I am in Hobart.

If you ring Sara (she is special) or anyone else there on 03 6272 5044, I am sure they will look after you.

It does take about 10 minutes to walk at a nice pace, just bloody cold during June & July.
