Hi.
When a 26 week league ends and presentations are done etc, are current handicaps normally carried forward into another league or reset to zero?
It's a bit difficult to explain, however our league finished, and has restarted for another 26 weeks. AMF Noarlunga management has, in it's infinite wisdom, zeroed everyones handicap even though 90% of the players were in the league last time around. Even more annoying is that for the first week of the current cycle, handicaps from the last "season" were used, thereby confusing the issue even more.
Is this the norm for league play or has AMF Noarlunga got it wrong? What happens in your league when a new cycle starts?
In my view either everyone should start from zero, or the accrued handicaps form the last cycle should remain, with new players being "factored in" as necessary, maybe by working out their scores based on a handicap calculated from the first couple of games they bowl. Does this make sense?
Thanks.
