Thanks Julie, Dwayne, Wally, Eileen, Megan et al. - great job, thank-you!

Can I make an aside comment that the tournament scene in NSW and Sydney is in a pretty bad state of affairs at the moment. While we all have things going on in out lives and I realise some things are legitimately unavoidable, it is really important at the moment for everyone in the bowling community to support those centres who make an effort to run these sorts of events because there is very little in it for them.

What really upsets me is that I just cannot believe how many people respond to tournaments like this to the point that they don't get the support they deserve. From people pulling out during the week leading up to the tournament (just like the NSW Sport Series), to bowlers threatening not to enter or come back next year beacuse the pattern was too easy or too difficult, to other centres scheduling in competition on the same weekend as this tournament. It makes me ashamed to be a part of a commnity which acts in such an egocentric and esurient manner. I don't care who you are, if this kind of selfishness keeps happening, we will have nothing left to bowl in NSW and that doesn't help ANYONE.

Ken

I would just like to repeat what i wrote under the tourney section and a few other things.

1stly, thanks to julie, kevin and wally for putting on such a well run event and to the sponsors also.

2nd, congrats to george, jason (who was a bit unlucky getting mowed down in the last game) and to don (your a gentleman, and a joy to bowl with) and to everybody who bowled yesterday.

It was great fun and the 1st tourney in 12 years for me. Am feeling very sore after a self inflicted accident in the 11th game to my hand but had a great time and will definately be back next year.

Just to briefly touch on what Ken has said, this is very true. In any sport but especially bowling as i see it nowadays, we really need to all get behind every event possible that is run, and regardless of conditions and others factors which none of us can control as bowlers support these events.

It was a little disappointing to see so many withdrawals in the last week, i will just say that if you intend on putting your name down follow it thru and bowl, plan your time, dont rush into if you know you cant at the last minute and put your name down 2 months before as this doesnt help people running the event.

In saying all that i wont take away from the thread and say once again well done to george and all who bowled yesterday, except me lol
