It seems that according to this years rules and regulations as per TBA Website that you didnt have to bowl the Nationals to be eligibile to bowl Rachuig.

All you had to do was meet the criteria to make your respective state team.

Has this always been the case or has it only changed this year and will it stay the same for future Rachuig Events.

Can someone tell me whats going on??

Andrew I didn't think this had changed. This is an extract from the TBA Website rules & regs for Rachuig.

ELIGIBILITY - TEAM MEMBER, SELECTOR, MANAGER, COACH
Each person:
(a) Must be a financial member of a TBA Licensed Association or Registered
Bowling Centre - in good standing and attained the age of 18 years on or prior to
the first day of the National Adult Championships in that year.
(b) Must be capable of conducting themselves in such a manner so as not to reflect
discredit on TBA, the State/Territory they are representing or tenpin bowling.
(c) Must have qualified for Team Membership in accordance with the conditions set
down by the State/Territory Committee in charge of team selection.

The above rules are mandatory for all competitors. The individual States have their own requirements in addition to these National rules, and the State rules tend to change more often than the National rules. State rules cannot over-ride National rules, however National rules will over-ride State rules if there is a conflict.

Rules & regs

Yes Andrew S that is an extract from the TBA Site, but does it say anywhere on it that you had to bowl a singles, doubles and a teams event to be able to bowl rachuig.

That was what i was really asking. Sorry if it wasnt clear enough in the first place.

I don't believe it's a National Rule requirement to bowl All Events at the Nationals, however it may be an individual State rule. It is kind of traditional though for State team bowlers to bowl All Events. A more usual State requirement is for Rachuig nominees to bowl All Events in their State Championships. If it is now a new National rule then they haven't yet updated their website.
Maybe someone from TBA could comment?
