Effects of Bowl Damage

Hi,

How much of an effect would a hole/scratch, around 2mm deep and 5mm diameter (probably by a loose screw or something), have on the ball? it is pretty close to my track...

ps. would this increase absorption of oil into the pourus material of the ball? is that a problem?

2mm deep: none at all

It should not affect your balls reaction on the lanes if it is not going to roll over the scratch mark. If you find however you track over this then I suggest you take it to your pro shop and they can help with it.
