How do we posibly get to read an original post or reply before it was EDITED

From what I can gather, I think he means whether we can read the original post, as well as the edited version, to see what has been changed and what is the same.

My question is, why would you want to do that?

Long answer would be if the forum was backed up or archived before the original post was edited, he could offer the forum owner $1,000,000 to waste his time to search through the archive....
