There is a store at Strathpine called www.ezydvd.com.au and they have heaps of movies .. are you certain it isnt available in Australia ? These guys will tell you ..

Heres some info from their site regarding regions etc

What are the "regions"?
Before DVD was released it was decided to include regional codes for both players and the movies themselves. This was done for two main reasons:
Movies are released into different regions at different rates. e.g. by the time a movie is released onto DVD in the US, it may only just be released at the movie theatres in say Australia, Europe or Asia.

There are 6 regions throughout the world.
R1)Canada, United States and its Territories
R2)Japan, Europe, South Africa and the Middle East
R3)Southeast Asia and East Asia
R4)Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central and South America
R5)Indian Subcontinent, Former Soviet Union and Africa
R6)China
Regional codes are optional for the makers of DVD discs themselves. The encryption system on each disc is the same which leads to the next question.

Why are some DVD's formatted "Region 0"?
Region 0, or multi-region, both mean the same thing. These discs are formatted to play on all DVD players from around the world. However you must be aware that many of these titles are formatted in NTSC (US), so you will need a TV monitor which is NTSC compatible to view in full colour. Please check your TV manual or contact the TV manufacturer for more info.

What this has to do with bowling i dont know but good luck :D

There are several DVD players available in Australia that are region free out of the box.
If the movie was made in Oz there is a strong chance it will be region 4 anyway. Most players these days can be hacked, it's not too hard and in some cases you can do it with the same remote.
Your best bet though is to ask the retailer to supply you with a region free DVD player.
Most of them charge around $20 for this service. If you attempt the hack yourself and it doesn't work out you could stuff up your warranty.

Graham is quite right your monitor or TV must also be capable of supporting NTSC. (It would have to be a pretty old set for it not to support that format.) What you also need to do is to is to find out if it is an RCE disk. Some of the US disks have this encoded which means that some region free DVD players are unable to play them back.

Have asked Ezydvd

Graham,

I am aware of the shop and have spent many hours seaching there website and ordering dvd's. I have also emailed the people from ezydvd and they advised me that it is not available in Australia.

So if the DVD comes with a region number 4 on it i can play it at home.
