As you are probably aware no one ever gets to bowl for nothing.

Thus when we all head down to Frankston to bowl in the shield in November someone has to pay for the game lineage. This falls to the bowling centre you represent.

Now the bowl is not going to simply give you these games for nothing so the funds raised are used to cover these costs. It may also be used to subsidise official practice and to cover shirt and maybe jacket costs for the competitors and managers.

To think it simply goes to the bowl is not thinking in the big picture. In the end all competitors receive a minimum of seven games bowling. They also receive a very thorough examination of where they are at as a scratch bowler. I think this last point is the most valuable thing that comes from the whole event.

Our fundraising at Sunshine generally goes towards food and drinks for the bowlers during the weekend, as well as towards shirts.

Every little bit helps.
