Does this look like this was caused by a ball defect or heat?

Does it look like a defect or some sort of physical impact damage?

Hi all,

I am at my whits end and am looking to go to the ACCC in regards to a matter of my ball being split in two at my local alley a few weeks ago.
I have a Brunswick Mystic Aura with about 50 games max on it, and was pre bowling for the week. I threw it down to attempt a 10 pin pick up and ended up in the channel about 3 meters shy of hitting it. Now after about 1.5 meters, my ball ended up ramping out to hit the 10 and I saw part of the ball fly into the gutter on the lane next to it.
I am told by the owner of the centre that it is a ball defect that has caused it, and that there is nothing they will do about it. Although, their main ball driller and pro shop operator from their main office centre, states that it is nothing to do with a defect, and I also have the same opinion from the Brunswick Product Specialist, Ryan Mouw, whom has viewed the pictures and, without any legal obligations (as Brunswick have no warranty on their bowling gear) advised that the damage, in particular, the gouge taken out of it, was that of the ball striking something and was very similar to that of what occurs to a bowling ball when they destroy it using a ball splitter.

I was hoping that there may be someone else on here that can take a look and advise the same thing, as the head office for this franchise, questioned the qualifications of their own pro shop operator when I mentioned about his view of the damage, and also never concerned themselves to ask for his opinion, but did so of another pro shop operator in another centre, that they own also, 40+ Km away.

To me it looks like the ball has bounced out of the gutter and hit the Rake arm on a Brunswick Machine, as they have a nice straight edge exposed. This is not normal unless the Gutter is loose near the end or you have hit a Pin in the Gutter, same effect. If the Rake arm was inspected you would probably find pieces of ball stuck to it. Whose Fault is it, if you struck a Pin in the Gutter it's your fault, if the Gutter is loose it's the Centres fault. Just My honest opinion.
What gives me the qualifications to give you this Judgement, 38 Years working on Brunswick and AMF machines and seeing similar damage. But I did once see a similar one at the old Balgowlah Centre on AMF 82/30's during the Asian Zone Youth Tournament in 1985, one of the Japanese bowlers had a ball jump out of the gutter and strike the Sweep Rail, that was more a problem with the Kickback end having a bad curve on it.

The ball had no cracks or weight holes. All fingers solid and in tact. Single drill and damage is on track line.
