Does colour matter??

Hypercell = Hyperhook!
With the new range of balls coming out, the colours are getting more and more " out there ". Is colour a consideration when choosing bowling balls???

YES!

those balls have to look good you know. Not just the colour thou there's the pattern, the theme, the bits and pieces in the see through balls....

just the other day i saw a bowling ball that really freaked me... the thing was starring at me.
However: bowing, despite what people say, is still for enjoyment and if this funky stuff gives you a giggle then it is a serious consideration in the purchase.

Well......It depends on who is buying the ball. For the casual bowler, yes, colour is important, because it catches your eye. That's why the cheaper balls (Maxims, White Dots ect.) come in so many different colours.

As a competition bowler, who bowls tournaments, who cares about the colours. Weightblock and cover surface is more important.

Hey Androo

I must be one of the people that actually cares about performance! If I wanted a "pretty" ball, I'd go buy a White Dot, or Cosmic Target Zone, But it wouldn't do much for me! I want a ball that suits my game...That is more important to me!

As far as I'm concerned, colour doesnt even rate a mention when I'm getting a new ball. But, on the other hand, it's pretty good when you're throwing a cool looking ball, it tends to draw a little more attention.
Regardless of colour, I will always stick to my Brunswick gear

Specially that dull, boring JADE GREEN tour edition Quantum.

There might be something psychological here.

I find that my plain boring balls don't work for me like my "prettier" balls. As said, thats probably because of the coverstock / weightblock.

But even when a boring ball is better suited to the lane condition I'm reluctant to use it (just stupid I guess). I think seeing the colours swirling around on pretty balls lets me see exactly what its doing so its easier to see whats going wrong (or right).

Personally, ball colour does count. Its the way u bowl it that counts and all. Most my 2 strike balls r black. So maybe it does represent the bowler... Who knows. :p But, colours to me, dun mean much. a Ball is a Ball.

If the only ball that suited my bowling technique was pink with, yellow dots, id still buy it. Granted, if there was 2 balls with the same performance, id buy the better looking of the 2. Tho, pink and yellow? hrm.....

Dear Dotty.
I bowled with a pretty pink Hammer, one of my favourite balls, and it went with my socks. Please leave pink alone!!
