Does anyone here read Japanese...

after askin a few people here at work, they seem to feel its a item tag for the tree which may of been used as a pole, and what ever it is it's number 4....

My son learning Japanese at school and tells me the large stuff is KUNGI ( we think thats the spelling and he hasn't learnt that yet) and the top small symbol is 4 (sure about that one) and the bottom one he believes is 500 (not real sure) .

Hope it helps u,

the symbols are chinese Kanji (the japanese have adopted them into their own writing system. The Kanji have multiple meanings and only when u put them together do they make sense. The one on the left is definately number 4, and the third one down on the right means 'under'. will find out more if i can

ok I have asked my Japanese teacher and this is what she said...

the top two Kanji refer to buildings, probably a house. The third kanji, as i said earlier is 'under', and the last one is either someone's name or a reference to the tree. The two smaller ones on the left mean, 'four items'.

I know it isn't very cohesive but i hope it helps.

Where abouts in New Guinea?

I have a Japanese and a chinese person staying with me and they pretty much agree with the definitions that have been put forward but they say it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Absolutely no idea as to the location or even the rough area I'm afraid.
The top two answers so far from all places where I've asked this question are "Made in USA" and "Do Not Remove". :(

The things on the left mean 4 items or 4 pieces. The rest is something about a pole and under? My japanese and chinese peolple are sleeping or something now so I am going off what I rememebr them telling me. But definately not "Made in America" or "do not remove"
