Curtain falls on Tuesday night leagues at Chadstone after 50 years

Sadly tonight due to the impossible situation now with car parking at Chadstone Shopping Centre my league, "The Pacesetters League" voted to relocate and start bowling at Clayton effective from next Tuesday night.

With the late league, "Major League" bowling for the last time at Chadstone last Tuesday night, no Tuesday night leagues will be bowling at Chadstone for the first time since possibly when the original centre opened in 1964 for the three Tuesdays left before the centre closes its doors for the last time.

Those who don't know AMF Chadstone Bowl will close its doors for the last time on Sunday October 5th. It is just over 50 years since the original centre located under the original Myers store was opened. Sadly it seems the Neanderthals that own Chadstone Shopping Centre don't think there is room for a bowling centre at Chadstone anymore. No loyalty to long term tenants in fact it appears they do not give a s*** about us long term customers of the shopping centre at all.

Thus I call all genuine bowlers to boycott Chadstone Shopping Centre at least until they come to their senses and again entertain AMF as a tenant again. Make sure they know of your actions by sending them an email voicing your disgust at the way you, who have been long term customers of this centre have been treated. Ensure they know how much money on top of that you put through AMF there other tenants are going to lose due to their stupidity.

I was under the impression Chadstone is getting rebuilt in the renovations? But won't be reopened for a few years.

The powers at be at the center did not include a bowling center in the revamped Entertainment section they are adding to the complex including a hotel. AMF were unaware of this until they actually saw the plans for themselves. At no stage had the shopping center management informed AMF that they were not included in the redevelopment plans. This is despite AMF still having 4 years at least on their lease agreement. AMF is negotiating with the center management to try to have a bowling center still at Chadstone.

From the ashes of Tuesday night league bowling at Chadstone comes the reintroduction of league bowling on a Tuesday night at Clayton. Now have two leagues bowling there on a Tuesday night. My league, Pacesetters 4 Person Teams x 3 Games @ 6.30pm paying $25 per week inclusive of prize fund start there tonight, and Major League bowling Doubles @ 8:30pm bowling 3 games started there last Tuesday.

I believe there are vacancies in Major League if the later time and doubles is more your style, but check with the bowl.

My league has vacancies for either individual bowlers to join one of 3 existing teams needing one bowler or for bowlers who wish to put in their own team of four. So come join our friendly but competitive league and enjoy yourself each week.
