Has anyone heard of Paul Gelhauser, supposedly bowled two 300 games in a row.Is this true? and has anybody else done likewise?

Can say that l have not heard of him.

Only 1 Aussie has done this feat that is recognised by the governing body, l think. If someone else is able to correct me please feel free.

This is straight from the TBA web site:

The first person to bowl back-to-back recognised 300 games was Derek Adams in February 2003, at Nerang Tenpin Bowl, Qld.

Bruce Doig achieved it at Caboolture bowl last year. If i remember correctly he went 300-300- 24?.

Also i think Dereks' was in the middle of a 4 game series 1100+.

p.s It should be somewhere on this site.

Never heard of Paul Gelhauser.

There have been 2 X back to back 300's bowled in Australia that have been recognised.

The first was by QUEENSLADER Derek Adams, then aged 15, on 11 February 2003 at the old Nerang Bowl (which has now been demolished) on the Gold Coast. Derek's scores on the night were 258, 300, 300, 246 for a 1104 series. A feat not likely to be ever bettered by a Junior bowler.

The second was by QUEENSLANDER Bruce Doig on 4 August 2004 at Caboolture Bowl. Bruce's scores were 300, 300, 249. I was fortunate to be bowling near Bruce that night - what concentration he displayed!!!!. A great effort.

not consecutive, but ash riley bowled two 300's in the one night some years ago down here in tassie (not sure of exact figures but we would be talking 12-13 years ago i reckon) which was a fair effort at the time considering equipment etc) still is a fair achievement actually.
