Confusing~~~~

It is an introduction about Patrick Allen.
At the bottom part of the intro, there is a Career Statistics for Patrick Allen and the titles are like the following:

'Season Events Cashes Match Play TV Finals Titles Avg Earnings'

I am just wondering about what does 'Cashes' mean? How about 'Match Play'?

Can anyone explain these two for me?

cashes means just that, he has cashed (ie earnt money) in a tournament.

match play is simply a stage above qualifying for the tournament. You bowl a round of games to qualify, they cut to (for instance as an example) the top 32, then play match play (this is bowler verses bowler, head to head, you play for a win or loss) for a number of games.

Although these days with the exempt field, the cashes stat is all but redundant, as exempt bowlers are guaranteed to cash at every event bar the majors......
