Conflict of Three Events on the Weekend of March 14-15

Hi Folks,

We now have three events happening on this weekend in NSW. They were posted in this order.

1. Coffs Harbour Skins
2. NSW Sport Series 2 (Venue TBA)
3. Newcastle Cup

I'm not proposing a solution, as this is the weekend of my wife's birthday and I'm staying home for that. I just thought people needed to know.

Right off the top of my head how about we utilise this site correctly so that people who organise things have one area to go to see if there is anything planned, what do i mean by this, well how about simply doing this.

When posting on this site with threads for tournaments we use the calendar which is provided on this site also. This will aloow tournament promoters, centres etc to see if there is a free weekend.

How to make it work, well simple firstly look to see if there is a tournament on the calendar to run your tournament free of others in the region.

Secondly if there is not then put your tournament in the calendar.

Thirdly then put your thread in the forum of your choice.

The sooner this gets utilised the sooner the calendar will start to take shape and the sooner this sort of thing will not happen.

I would also like to add a 4th one to the weekend and that is The Shoalhaven City Championships that is on the weekend of the 14th and 15th of March and hence i will be attending this along with several other bowlers from the Posse as well as from the region there and surrounds.

Start this process and we might get the tournaments and championships moved to accomodate those that may want to bowl in the same things that are clashing.

Coffs is listed as 7th of March, unless this has changed somewhere and i missed it.

Still, with the sports series having been planned for at least 3 months (dates were available at the last event last year) it amazes me that other tournament directors still place an event on the same weekend.

Time to get it sorted!

John had the sports series date at the last event from last year....... before all the other events had been arranged, but you will never make all happy and most ofthe time there is a clash of some sort......

The dates need to be published at the end of the year or as suggested on the calendar here.

The geographical distance between events: Shoalhaven, Coffs Harbour and Sport Series (?) is okay. There are not enough weekends not to cross over somewhere.

Coffs is on the 7th, Newcastle is the week after. I"ll be at both, my flights to Newcastle have already been booked. I hope it goes ahead

A little pre planning by tournament organisers will stop this happening again

Hi All,

Yes Coffs Skins is on the 7th, the only change has been to the start time from 7.00pm to 6.00pm.
Check in 5.30pm.

A reply to George...I have spoken with Deb from Mayfield Superstrike and the dates for the Newcastle Cup will not be changing despite the clash, so you can sleep easy from now mate...I'll see you there
