can someone please explain to me whuy it is called the commonwealth youth games if it is only for people who nominate for the squad have to have birthdays in 1986 or later?

why call it youth it should be just junior

I think you will find that the title of the competition comes from the Commonwealth Games Federation. They also have stipulated the age of the competitors.
