Before you get carried away Tamerett,

Queensland DID NOT win Rachuig. They placed 3rd in the mens and 2nd in the womens. What they did win was the Trish Datson Memorial Trophy for combined teams scores. aS the tournament is the Walter Rachuig Trophy tournament, your statement is erroneous. Qld men have never won Rachuig unlike NSW, Vic, SA, Tas, and now NT. Your women have won Rachuig on numerous occassions.

THe Trish Datson Memorial is a relatively recent innovation, instigated in 1987 when it was won by SA. We do not claimn this as a Rachuig win. Our last win in Rachuig was 1988 when both the women and men won, henceforth winning the Datson as well.

The Rachuig trophies are the main focus of the tournament. The focus only switches to the Datson when your team is no longer in contention to win the Rachuig
