Brilliant result Queensland well done

Andrew S.

Gold Coast
Congratulations to the Queensland squad on a fantastic result. Thank you Graham for bringing us these results, you are doing a tremendous job.

that looks like a trifecta to us!

Congratulations to Qld on their performances at the Nationals in winning the annual challenges for Walter De Veer, ATBSO Seniors Challenge, and now Rachuig. (must be something in the water!!)

The Nationals themselves have produced some fine bowling from all the States and Territories involved, everyone involved in this years tournament should be proud of the achievements that they have recorded, and look forward to next years tournie in Sydney!
Good luck to all in the Masters tomorrow!

seems we forgot the Junior Presidents Shield victory by QLD as well which makes it 4 out of 4.

Amazing scenes here at the bowl .. I can tell you watching from above the lanes I was as nervous as anyone. Being the one keeping an eye on the other results and the realise the fact that Queensland had won is something I'll never forget.

Awesome stuff Queensland .. I am so very proud right now.

Presentation photos will be on the photos page very shortly.

At this moment i'm very proud to be a Queenslander. Your right Graham all 4 shields
What an achievement for Queensland bowling.
Also thankyou for the great job you have done we have been online the last couple of days, it was nearly as good as being down there.

Just a little clarification needed as things may have changed in modern times - is not the trophy awarded for the overall team points the Trish Datson Memorial Trophy? This is a much more recent award than the Rachuig trophy which was always won by the winning teams in each division.

Unlike the juniors, where the Presidents Shield is combined points, the senior competition was always decided as single divisions.

If still the same, Queensland has then been awarded the Trish Datson Trophy and Rachuig has been won by the Northern Territory (Men) and New South Wales (Women).

Nevertheless it has been a great effort by all. Congratulations.

Congratulations to all participants in Rachuig 2001 but a special congratulations to Queensland. A job well done in deed. What a year for Queensland!

I have just come home from work and logged on for the final results of Rachuig. What can I say, In spite of the fact that SA didn't win either the guys or gals, I was absolutely elated that the Northern Territory guys won the men's division. I can remember in 1990 in Townsville when the NT gals came 2nd, the euphoria was great and the gals dressed for the Rachuig dinner in complete Tropical gear, representing the climate they live in and they certainly did put NT on the bowling map that year. However, it is now 2001 and to see a "changing of the guard" for the guys is great and is so good for bowling in general. Well done guys. I would also like to congratulate the NSW women's team, yet again - but no surprises there. With a line up like you had in your team, I think it was "odds on favourite" that you would win. To Queensland, great effort being the "all round" team by winning the Trish Datsun Trophy, and I think it is lovely that three different States/Territories won the awards this year.

To the Great SA team, you did us proud, we have some great bowlers in SA, and I know each and every one of you would have done the best on each day that you could do. Ally - congrats on a great average for Rachuig.

Rachuig is over for another year but the Masters is still to come, so may the best man and lady win. Good luck to everyone for the Masters and I look forward to hearing all about it when Jo arrives home.

Jo, bowl well in the Masters, I will be thinking of you as always - Love Mum xxx

I got home from league to nite after hearing the final results, and asked Sandy to pick the first and last in both divisions.
She said in the mens Vic s First...last N.T.
At least she picked the women correctly.
This is as big as when Tassie won, perhaps even bigger.
Amazing stuff crocodile hunters.
It looks like it took the men a bit over 4 wins per match to win,and NSW women at 5 plus is exceptional.
Wins look like they were hard to come by making Ann Maree Putneys 17 wins and Emma Rattens 16 top shelf.
What a great effort by young Chris Matthews ..WA to average 216..
The new format of just matchplay points has proved a leveller, and a bookies nightmare next year.
NSW and VIC s men will no doubt undergo a swab test, and if someones memory is better then mine then this is the first time one of them have taken out the wooden spooooon....ouch VIC,s...croc bite.
I have this incredible urge to labour on this but i wont..i cannot lie..i have a grin from ear to ear..suffer you bastards.
I wont say that they should be rocked at the airport.love the VICS like all of us.
WA women did real well, one would say above expectations, and in the mens you,d put SA on the same shelf.
QLD..well what can you say..actually what can you say..if either of the teams had won i figure the celebrations would have been quite a few octaves higher.
I knew Trish Datson well, and if not WA,i couldnt be happier it went to QLD.

im sorry i missed it but Colin Hunt with 17 wins ..thats great..or as you guys say SA great. You ,Ann Maree, and Emma all on 212..must be the match winning average of the tournament.

Graham,
if you mean 4 out of 4 in consecutive years for Qld in President Shield,
Don't you mean 4 out of 5 ?????
Who won in Canberra Last Year ???

Last time u stay at my place
