Shooting Disrupts Family Night
NORTH AURORA, Ill. -- Family night at a North Aurora bowling alley was disrupted by gunfire Saturday night.
Four people were shot in what police said was the result of a gang-related fight.
The violence broke out around midnight inside the bowling alley in the 300 block of South Lincoln Way. As parents and children were inside having fun, suddenly there was gunfire, prompting everyone to duck and hit the floor when the shots rang out.
One witness -- a mother who was inside -- described a terrifying scene.
"We're fighting the wrong war," she said. "We need to fight the war right here with these gangs. We can't even have family night at the bowling alley without worrying about our kids being shot."
There were a number of babies at the bowling alley. Police said all of the victims are in their 20s.

Man shot to death at bowling center
By J. Michael Rivera
The Californian
The girlfriend of a man shot to death Friday night at a Salinas bowling center remembered him Sunday as a perennially smiling man and a loving father.
Juan Antonio "Tony" Irachetta died at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after being shot about 10:45 p.m. in a disturbance at Valley Center Bowl, 1081 S. Main St.
"I don't know why someone would want to do something to him," said Veronica Villegas, 22, who identified herself as his fiancÈe and girlfriend of five years. "We were engaged and we talked about getting married. We never got to finish what we were discussing."
Valley Center Bowl, a popular youth gathering spot, was busy at the time of the shooting, according to police reports.
Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and have not concluded whether the shooting was gang related.
A spokeswoman for the bowling center said no one there would have any comment on what happened.
Anyone with information about the Friday night shooting death of Juan Antonio Irachetta is asked to call the Salinas Police Department and speak to Det. Gerry Davis at 758-7322 or Det. Rick Maldonado at 758-7147.
