Congrats Belmo, great to see you are showing them over there just how well the Aussie's can mix it with the best of the world. You are a machine.

Also well done Jase good to see you are bringing home some cash for Michelle, that should cover her trip to AO and even give her a little spending money too while she is down there.

Once again Congats.

Congrats Belmo.
Awesome effort.

Nice shirt too. ;)
Wonder where you got that?
Check it at
http://www.high-roller.com/index_card.shtml?year=2007&month=02&day=12

George picked up a couple of $1000 prizes and Jezz got 1 x $1000 from what I saw. Think George got a bit more in another event somewhere.

Big Shot, Track Machine, Columbia Action, Columbia Jinx, Columbia Wrath (and the soon to be released Track Phoenix) shirts are all available in Australia.

JASON BELMONTE WINS ‘HIGH ROLLER’ TOURNAMENT

First Australian to win Las Vegas super-event

Jason Belmonte today clinched one of bowling’s most fancied international titles by winning the HIGH ROLLER tournament in Nevada, USA. And winning it in style.

The young Australian left some of the world’s best-known bowlers in his wake as he cruised to a stunning victory with a near-perfect 279 game in the grand final. Under pressure from the start, having to spare a 6-7-10 split in the second frame, Belmonte then shot 10 strikes in a row in the final-four shoot-out to claim the trophy and US$25,000 prize money at the famous Sam’s Town Bowling Center in Las Vegas.

Belmonte overcame Jeremy Sonnenfeld, one of the very few bowlers who has ever shot a 900 score (three consecutive perfect games), in the fourth round 221-202. Fellow two-handed bowler, Osku Palermaa from Finland rolled a 300 game in the fifth round and a 289 game in the sixth, but Palermaa stumbled in the seventh round to only narrowly defeat Korea’s Kim Ko Woon, 171-167, setting up a familiar semi-final showdown with Belmonte.

Belmonte’s 206-151 win in the eighth round ousted Palermaa from the four-man one-game shoot-out, and Belmonte’s 279 score in the final match of the event decisively delivered the highly-sought title to the young Aussie, with Scott Monteleone from Biloxi, Mississippi runner-up on 243.

Belmonte’s good friend, and fellow Australian representative bowler, Jason Walsh also featured prominently in the final rounds, overtaking several high-profile US bowlers including Scott Pohl, until he was defeated in the sixth round by one of the stars of last year’s Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships, Dominic Barrett from England.

Today’s win trumps an already outstanding year for Belmonte, who was runner up in both the ABF Tournament of Champions in Jakarta and the South Australian Cup in Adelaide last month.

"This type of format is hard, and I’m extremely proud to be the first Australian to win this event," said Belmonte who flies back to Australia on Wednesday to a hero’s welcome in Orange. The City of Orange recently recognised Belmonte’s outstanding sporting achievements with its SPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR Award on Australia Day.

Looking at the Video and knowing Jason's style, I would say he is like me and can't handle Synthetic Approaches, he stuck, other than that everything looks normal.

Absolutely agree! Synthetic approaches generally suck!

Either that or there was so much on the lanes that he had to look down and dump the ball at his feet to make it turn the corner..

Well done Belmo
