Queensland Youth bowlers are advised that there is a new event at the Arafura Games.

Australasian Youth Championships
For the first time the 2009 event will host an Australasian Youth Championships where bowlers under 23 years of age at January 1st 2009 can compete in teams of 3 or 6, bowling in singles, doubles, trios, all events and Youth Masters. The first attempt in Singles, Doubles and Trios is free but multiple entries up to the maximum of 3 in each event will cost competitors $28 Aus per event. If the youth bowlers wish to also compete in the Open Arafura Games then they will have to pay $28 per event after using their free entry in the Youth Championships. Arafura Games Medals will be awarded for these events.
Youth Masters Finalists decided from the top 16 All Events Scores in all Divisions must pay $175 Aus entry for the final. There will be cash prizes for the first 3 places in Masters Division but the final amount is dependent on local sponsorship attained.
There will be a Trophy awarded for the champion youth team from any country, state, territory or region determined by the number of top 3 placings in the Australasian Youth Championships.
This will mean selection of another Youth Team to represent Qld.
Roll-offs will be arranged when more details are forthcoming from the organising body.
