Sad to see so few with a World Cup Spot at stake .... with no advertising anywhere that I can find, except the struggle to find a list (finally) on TBA website, it is very hard to keep bowlers informed. Total Bowling may not be to everyone's taste, but it is the best way (in my humble opinion) to keep bowlers informed with Entry Forms, squad lists and any other information regarding the tournament.

Just checked it out, 59 bowlers... Doesn't seem like many, for a tournament that is considered as a major tournament!!! No promotion at our local AMF centre, and we have two or three bowlers competing... You think that every centre would want to promote their bowlers, this tournament, and this sport.....

Without this site it would be incredible hard to get the numbers to any tournament.
Only 59 to AO is very sad. We get more then that to some random country centre with quarter the prize money because of this web site and good promotion.
Maybe AMF may just relize that!

The most important reason why AO has less entries than a few years back is:
Too expensive to afford for the current financial crisis. Its $280 not 1 or 2 dollar, even harder for interstate bowlers where they have to pay for airfares and accommodations. Not everyone can afford!!!! Can cost you 1K easily and what if you cant make the cut? So be realistic!!!
Most Australian bowlers know that there is an AO tournie running every year around Easter @ Sunshine, Victoria. I bet 190+ average bowlers all know.
To Shayne: im guessing if AMF put their AO advertising on totalbowling or on TV, would you come down and have a go? i doubt it.
Advertised AO on Totalbowling wont double the number of entries. True bowlers will find their ways.
Be supportive, critized AMF doesnt help "Australian bowling sport" becomes better. I thought if you love bowling then you promote it naturally to others without any demandings or expect anything from returns.

from what i know, only 1 spot left for A squad (last night). So the current number is 89 not 59 like you thought. The new updated is not correct. Have let Brett know already.
Why people think its hard to go to TBA website to view entry form and make an extra phone call to put your name down. Doesnt make any sense if you love and can afford to bowl. Why others can and your here whinging. Im sorry but that is what i saw.

AMF need to wake up its much easier to be able to nominate squad on here.

If I do, then I apologise, for its only due to utter frustration by centre staff, who just don't give a ****, other than picking up their packet packets.. Sorry, but the fact remains is that my centre couldn't care less.... Talk about driftwood!!! I can't believe these people are in customer service industries..What a joke!!!
