Will they put Roy in the team tomorrow???
I think yes, its got to happen, just an all round great cricketer and great guy. Mr Cricket #2 in my book.

I don't always see eye to eye with you Steve but this time round i agree with you 110%...Lets hope he makes some runs this time and stays in that line up for years to come...When Roy is in any side it's enjoyable to watch...

He's got what it takes. I'v always thought he's better than Watson. Like Gilchrist, he can change the game in a session

He fails in Perth its the end of an test career spanning 11 matches.
One of the most naturally gifted cricketers to play the game, hopefully he has built the patience to succeed in the test match arena!

Same old Symonds today, should be dropped for the Boxing Day test and never play another test for Australia again.

sorry i have to disagree, how can you drop a guy when the hole team besides mister cricket failed, come think about it, hussey 72, clark and langer 37, symonds 26, no one else got higher i dont think, lets see how the rest of the match goes first before kicking him out.

mind i recon they need a couple of younger guys in the team

It's funny about Symonds. I was reading that he was told to approach his innings like a backyard cricket match. He did that pretty well! Give him a couple more goes i'd reckon, he might just make it.

well today perth showed it was a bowlers track, right now england are 8 for 156 and symonds has 2 for 8 of 4 overs, so dont write anyone off

australia leads the 2nd innings by 148 runs on stumps of day two of the test and with 9 wickets in hand

He shouldn't have even been recalled. We keep bringing players who have been on the scene for years back into the team!

M. Hussey and B. Hodge waited far to long to have a crack. Hodge made a double century and two tests later was banished from the team. Hussey has made it so far, but gee some of these 19/20 year olds must be chomping at the bit. Hope they realised you have to be 30 to be in our national team :p

hey ryan,

yes on that point i totally agree, the one thing that gets me with all national sports is they go with players who are in the team, instead of who is playing well, look at nrl, players playing there asses off dont even get a look into S.O.O they go with same players, hodge should be there as a all rounder

Well he's made his mark. Coming in at 5/86, Roy's 156 was a major part of why australia won the test match. I think he's the right choice for the all-rounder spot in the side, not only has he now proven himself with the bat, he also gives the option of bowling medium pace or off spin. Not to mention being the best fielder in the country, he's able to save 20 runs in the field!!

So all the doubters out there can eat......humble pie
