New South Welshman Andrew Lloyd is currently in the lead after day 1 of the second event on the AMF Super Six Series in 2004 - the Cannington Classic from AMF Cannington in WA.
Lloyd averaged 231.3 on his way to 1850 for 8 games today. He leads by 45 pins from second placed Andrew McArthur from the NT (1805,225.6) and Queenslander Carl Bottomley is in 2nd place only 4 pins behind McArthur with 1801 and a 225.1 average.
Local bowler Luke Dick provided the high game of Day 1 with a 299 game, leaving a 7 pin on the final shot. He narrowly missed out on a bonus from AMF, who have put up $300 for all 300 games in the Super Six in 2004.
The bowlers from B Squad return at 9am Local Time to bowl a further 8 games of qualifying, with A Squad bowling their final 8 games at 1pm. Local time is behind all other parts of Australia - 3 hours behind NSW, ACT, VIC & TAS; 2 hours behind QLD; 2 1/2 hours behind SA and 1 1/2 hours behind NT.
The top 16 should be decided by around 4:30pm local time tomorrow afternoon. Those bowlers will return on Monday for 15 games of Matchplay, which will decide the winner of the 2004 Cannington Classic.
