hey dont know the scores for parramatta but thought id let u know u wont have a problem there.

even tho it was noted after the even that u must be 16 by the final the staff let a 15 year old take the 1st prize..

in the ladys a 14 years old girl came third.

i came second in the men so im a lil pissed.....if anyone has a enrty form u can see rule to states u must be 16 b4 the event...

my score was only 2200 something but u know it means nothing anyway...
wouldnt mind some pplz opinions on the matter of the amf way about rules...its was fully neglected that the rules were broken...
anyways hope to hear some voices

Mark Ward

Umm i know u want have a problem beating forest hill scores our ladies winner was Chris Niguet and she also beat the guys but don't know the score.
Chris

BEATEN BY A KID

IF I GOT BEAT BY A 15 YEAR OLD KID,I WOULD NOT BE ADVERTISING IT ON AN OPEN FORUM WEBSITE.SO WHAT THE KID BEAT YOU GET OVER IT.
TOURNAMENTS ARE FOR ALL AGES,IF THE CENTRE TAKES THE KIDS MONEY TO BOWL THEN THEY ARE ENTITLED TO GET MONEY BACK,IF THEY WIN. & IF YOU SO CALLED ADULTS ARE NOT ADULT ENOUGH TO TAKE DEFEAT WHETHER IT BE BY A 15 YEAR OLD KID OR AN 80YEAR OLD PENSIONER,DONT BOWL ANYMORE.HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO ENCOURAGE KIDS IF PEOPLE LIKE MARK WARD ARE WHINGING ABOUT BEING BEAT BY A KID.

WAKE UP TO YOURSELF. AND TRY HARDER.[/b]

WOW CAPS ARE COOL...

Seriously though congrats to the youngins, without em there is no bowling left in the future. Well done!!!

Mark ...

If you voiced your objection before the roll-off started, I'd think that they would have a case to answer. If so ... well, it's up to you whether you want to launch a protest.

If not, then it will look like sour grapes.

I'm not sure of how the rules work, but I'd imagine that the age rule is in place so as to avoid anyone having to pay for someone to chaperone them on any trips. (Duty of Care springs to mind).

Cheers ..

Spanner.

I am 99% sure that all centres were notified during qualifing that people under the age of 16 wasn't able to bowl. Pretty sure it does have something to do with duty of care. Good on the young ones for beating them but that was set out before the final.

The issue Mark has is not that he was beaten by a 15 year old but the fact that a 15 year old was allowed to bowl in the first place.

The rules for the NZ 9 Not Tap for whatever reason included a clause stating that no bowler under 16 years of age was eligible to compete in this particular tournament.

Bottom line the staff at the centre in question should have thoroughly read through the rules and refused to allow anyone under the age of 16 to bowl.
Mark is well within his rights to be annoyed with the staff but again i'm not sure there is much that can be done now.

And for the second time in living memory i happen to agree with Tonx
Without these young kids willing to compete in these tournaments bowling in Australia has a very bleak future

Don't you think the sponsors should have a say in who competes in their tournaments?

Im gunna go out on a limb here (only cus brendan aggrees with me for once) that when he posted that he meant these types of tournaments... as in these cruddy little house tournaments that gives them something fun to compete in.

Bottom line is Kids don't receive enough support these days, and when they do bowl well the 'old guys' say things like 'the equipment helps them' or "they only try to bang the f*** out of the ball these days" or even ' the lanes helped them beat me' (with me not being myself, but the old guys 8) 8) )

When kids win/compete, we should yell, cheer, and support them, not bag them, and say they got lucky...

Oh How it looks like sour grapes. Yes we should shout and cheer when a junior gets up and yes it is a cruddy little house tourni and with the score you bowled marc you never had a chance of winning the trip to NZ anyway. If i were you instead of bitchin and moaning I'd be out on those lanes brushing up on my form. The junior in question is not far off being sixteen and i bet if it had been one of your friends you wouldn't have said a word.

Just an after thought mabey you should have bowled in the special olympics they held at Parramatta over the anzac long weekend possibly you could have learnt some sportsmanship off one of those guy's

Geez Mark ... you've really made some friends down there ...

Look .. if the kid wins, good luck to him ... but if the rules state that he shouldn't have been bowling, then HE SHOULDN"T HAVE BEEN BOWLING .. let him wait until he qualifies, or 'ages-in'

If he does win, he won't be able to make the trip anyway.

Mark has a point.
The rules clearly state that any juniors bowling MUST be 16 years of age as of the 30th of April, which was when the centre finals were held. Why staff allowed this junior to bowl is really a mystery.

Anyhow, back on topic, winners at Strikezone
Women: Terri Huk
Men: Steve Johnson.

This forum makes me laugh sometimes.....
all u need is one person to go one way and alot of ppl follow.

my only point is about the rule...really i mean i cant bowl a youth torny cause im 24 or a junior one....they wouldnt allow it...is that not the same thing??

i dont understand why ppl think that cause i brought up a valid point they would smack me down for it.

The rules also stipulate that tournament directors have final say. I know for a fact that the diretor was contacted on the day so his dissision stands. If you want to lay the blame on someone it should be him instead of the staff at the center.

ok mi agree with u there....

he is to blame also.....i wasn posting to point the finger i was posting to get ppl opinions on the matter....

and anyway blondperson...who are u??? u should put a name to a post on here

I am me mr marc ward you dont have to know my real name. Do you.

Yes you do - it's real easy to come on here and have a go at someone without putting your name to it. Stop being so gutless.

ok lets look at it from a diffrent point of veiw.....

what about the man and lady that came 4th and miss out on any be it little cash because there was a 15 and 14 year old in the top 3 spots.

do u think it was fair to them???
