When booking just quote that it is for the Australian Open
I have 30 rooms on hold for anyone interested.

Looking After Bowlers

Geez at $150 per night I'll take 10 of them.......just kidding. Thanks for your help but I hope to find something a bit cheaper. :D

I think we need to look at the bigger picture on what Mr.Grand Prix has secured for us bowlers. I'm sure with the deal he has organised with Continents Hotels some stage during the year they in return will provide our tournaments with SPONSORSHIP dollars. I think this represents a good opportunity to get behind the few companys and businesses which are willing to give us a go and back out sport!

I will be trying to change my booking and pay the extra bucks (approx. $10 per night between 4) to support this chain of hotels and I would hope more people do the same.

I for one appreciate the efforts Mr.Grand Prixs is putting in, I think as tournament bowlers we need to be supportive of companies willing to support us. We have already seen what happens when we don't!

Ok yeah after talking with Glenn, it's been cleared up.

Yes it is a little more expensive, but yes you are right. It will benefit bowlers in the long run with potential sponsorship for future years.

Sorry for the confusion, just wasnt explained :D

I glad that was explained to us.
When I go interstate I will look for them as well. If they are helping us the least we can to is help them.

good work guys.

quest flemington has all your accommodation needs

It has come to my attention that there has been a suggestion of alternative accommodation for the Australian Open.

Quest Flemington has always supported all Bowling tournaments, and as a lot of you are aware is looking at a major sponsorship deal with the TBA currently, so I guess it is a little disappointing that it has been suggested to use another chain at a much dearer rate!!!.

Quest Flemington is 10 minutes travelling to Sunshine Bowl and can offer 4 1/2 star 1, 2 and 3 Bedroom fully Serviced apartments at very economical rates. We also have special bowling rates at all times of the year. For a 2 bedroom (2 bathroom and 2 TVS) you would be looking at a cost of $143.00 a night sleeping upto 4 people, For a 3 Bedroom (2 bathroom and 2 TVS) you would be looking at a cost of $190.00 per night sleeping upto 6 people.

We also will organise a very cheap shuttle service to and from the bowl if we get enough response.

I think it is great for everyone to support companies which are willing to support and give sponsorship dollars. But we all need to be aware of the problems which arise when one person recommends something that may in fact upset a deal which is in current negotiation.

Should anyone wish to know more about my property or want to make a booking our email address is questflem@access.net.au

Also .. I just realised that Glenns "Holiday Inn Melbourne" is actually right in Melbourne City (1-5 Spencer Street) .. good for those looking to party in the city till the wee hours .. not too good for those wanting to be close to the bowl.

I had no idea Flemington was so close to Sunshine. To Wendy at the Quest Apartments Flemington, I apologise. Wendy looked after all bowlers fantastically last year, with a pool (not that you will be using it) and a BBQ Area (a great BBQ was had last year), and a cheap shuttle to the bowl every morning and back (I think it worked out less than $5 each per day last year to get to the bowl and back)

So you have two choices, the Holiday Inn in the city, or Quest Flemington (closer to the bowl)

Yes well graham im sure the milkman could pop along for a bit of a dip, as he did last year :) also taking his mobile phone with him...lol. and then running into the gate doin around 100 km/h...very funny stuff, but there is a group of us that have decided to stay at the quest in flemington again, and hopefully we can get some much needed sponsorship $$$ in years to come

When I spoke to Wendy from Quest last year, she was dead set in going out of her way to assist all bowlers in enjoying their stay ... not to mention the transport to and from Highpoint bowl.

This kind of attitude towards bowling in this country is awesome, and I thank Quest Flemington for her continued support for tenpin bowling, and the actual bowlers themselves.

Last time I spoke to Wendy and Sally (Quest Narre Warren) they still have rooms available for the 2003 TBA Junior Nationals.

For any junior committees still looking for accommodation in June/July, I can highly recommendation these properties.

I can not speak highly enough of the service offered to the Vic teams over the past 2 years and I know that this will be passed on to any visiting teams.

Quest Flemington and Quest Narre Warren are not the closest accommodation to Forest Hill but travel from both is via a motorway making the journey in terms of time quite short.
