Hi All,

Hopefully I will be updating the result here -

The first lot should come out just after the first squad bowls.

Thanks

Hi All,

I would like to thank all for coming to this years event.
Also would like to thank Ronda, Jan , Betty , Val and all for the running of the tournament.
I would like to thank AMF, and all sponsors for there support and to Russell and his team for making this tournament successful.

At this point I would like to hear from the bowlers to get an idea on what they thought as for the lane condition what was put down.
I know many have there preferences in what they like, e.g. more oil, less oil....and so on.
It's hard to get the right balance and we wont please all.

Give us your thought anyway.

Cheers

Tony

Hi Tony,

Thanks for a well run Tournament - your harem did a great job (and you, too).

One minor observation - it would help if there was walkie talkie communication between the front desk and the technicians.

As to the condition, no real complaint except that, as it's a Nationally Ranked event and rep. teams are selected on the basis of results, I think there should be a systematic approach in the selection of conditions, possibly under the auspices of the TBA.
Nobody representing OZ is going to benefit from the conditions presented at the weekend, not to mention participants in the Australian Masters / Seniors Cup / Grand Seniors Cup in October at Rooty Hill.

Cheers

Greg,

The condition put down was very similar to the one laid down for the 2009 Asian Zone Seniors Championships in Manila. Whilst I agree that it is not a condition for a nationally ranked tournament, it is ideal for those players competing at Asian Zone Seniors level.

Thanks Brenton, I didn't know that and I must admit I'm surprised. Mike Seymour said the pattern for Guam in Nov will be released in Sept.

Cheers

Well said Greg. It was sadlly to see such pattern be used for a TBA sanctioned tournament again, I asked a number of bowllers, no one like this pattern. I am just wondering that TBA doesn't have a proper policy for senior tournaments, why senior tournaments need to be sanctioned by TBA? Just for ranking? Put the TBA sanction fee to the prise fund which may give more benificals to the bowller.

The Manila pattern is an easier pattern, but much hard (less room for a mistake) than the SA pattern. The Japan's pattern was much hard.

Hi Tony,

I'm sure most bowlers enjoyed the high scoring but I would have preferred an oiling pattern closer to what we will be bowling on at the Nationals rather than one we "may" bowl on in the Asian Seniors every two years.

The Village, over the past few years have set challenging patterns and I was a bit disappointed not to get one this year, but needless to say, I enjoyed the tournament, as did Steven and look forward to next year.
