I am pleased to announce that the Perth Youth Cup will run again in 2009. We are taking entries now and an entry form should be posted within the week as we awaiting the accrediatation numbers from TBA.
The tournament details are as follows:
Dates: May 2nd & 3rd 2009
Venue: AMF Joondalup, 21 Franklin Lane, Joondalup WA
Entry Fee: $200
Format:
Qualifying - All bowlers will bowl 12 games of qualifying in their chosen squad. Bowlers will bowl 6 games on a "Short Oil" condition and 6 games on a "Long Oil" condition. All 6 game blocks will have the leanes re conditioned in between the squads.
After the completion of qualifying, the field will cut to the top 16 males and 8 females for a 6 game sprint.
On day 2 of the event, the top 16 males and 8 females will compete in a 6 game sprint with each of pair lanes being oiled alternate (ie. 1&2 Short, 3&4 Long etc). At the completion of the 6 game sprint, the field will be cut to the top 8 males and 5 females for the stepladder finals.
The male stepladder will run as follows:
Match 1 - Seeds 5 v 6 v 7 v 8 will bowl 1 game, with the highest game advancing to the next round
Match 2 - Seed 4 v Winner Match 1
Match 3 - Seed 3 v Winner Match 2
Match 4 - Seed 2 v Winner Match 3
Match 5 - Seed 1 v Winner Match 4 (Seed 1 has the right to a repecharge game)
In all matches, the highest seed will choose which oil pattern the match is played on.
The female stepladder is as follows:
Match 1 - Seeds 3 v 4 v 5 will bowl 1 game with the highest game advancing
Match 2 - Seed 2 v Winner Match 1
Match 3 - Seed 1 v Winner Match 2 (seed 1 has the right to a repecharge game)
Again, in all matches, the highest seed will choose which pattern the match will be bowled on.
The prizefund is as follows:
Mens (Based on 32 Entries)
1st - $1400
2nd - $1100
3rd - $950
4th - $800
5th - $700
6th - $600
7th - $550
8th - $500
9th - $450
10th - $400
11th - $350
12th - $300
13th - $275
14th - $250
15th - $225
16th - $200
Womens (Based on 15 Entries)
1st - $1000
2nd - $800
3rd - $600
4th - $400
5th - $300
6th - $250
7th - $225
8th - $200
1st Place in BOTH Divisions is GUARANTEED!!!!!!!!
There is also 2 Ball & Bag packages which have been kindly donated by Mike Quitter from Columbia 300. These will be awarded the highest place JUNIOR BOWLERS (male and female) who do not cash.
