I just want to say Congratulations to George "the blond bombshell" Frilingos for his win in the Werribee Cup yesterday.

Results : http://www.tenpin.org.au/vic/2003_Werribee_Cup/results.htm

For a tournament he so desperately wanted to win, and doing it after stepping off a plane from Manila is awesome. Congrats mate and well done.
Also congrats to Edi @ Werribee and her supporters Peter and Ian for job well done. Two great tournaments down there with awesome numbers, just goes to show what a bit og leg work can do for tournament numbers :)

Hmmm . . . Werribee has been fleeced by Queenslanders twice in the past 3 weeks.

Well done to both Brando and George in your performances in both the Werribee Youth Cup and Werribee Cup.

We look forward to your attendance in defence of your titles in 2004.

Well done George.

I was just wondering where my cut is

Peter, we'll get them back next year.

the challenge

Okay Queenslanders,
Let's see if it's 3rd time lucky. We have our Werribee Superbowl 60 game Marathon coming up (ANZAC Day weekend). Definitely gonna be a Vic taking the $1600 for that one! Let's see if our Northern cousins are game for THAT challenge.

Congratulations George on a spectacular performance. You said you'd do it when you walked in, and you certainly are a man of your word!

Great effort by Chris Mesagno on a 299.

Thanks to all the bowlers on a terrific day, the atmosphere was great,

Edi and the crew.

werribee cup 2003

Just like to thank the organisers at Werribee yesterday.. The staff did an excellent job on the day and i dare say there were a few people hitting the spa last night....
Well done george on the win and to everyone else who bowled well....
Im left to ponder one question how well would you have gone if you werent jet lagged lmao.
I think i have just invented a new handicap system lol
In all seriousness well done :)

If they held another one in a few months i reckon another 55 people would show up again, and upping the payout from just better than 1 in 3 to better than 1 in 2 on the day certainly made me happy(probably not the only one there) And well done to George, i feel knackered after a couple hour car trip to get to a tournament, stuff knows how i'd go after a flight from OS. Think he might be a chance to repeat the dose at Easter too.

I would like to thank Eddi and her staff for a great run tournament. Even if it was 1hr 1/2 behind due to more entries, thats not a bad thing, just means next years Weribee cup maybe over 2 days to allow for entries. I heard nothing but praise about the event and conditions and even though they were condusive to high scoring :D you still had to put the ball in the right place and carry. I have no doubts you'll get great numbers with anything you decide to run, well done Eddi!

Ian Nichols did a great job and Peter Coburn was great with the scores and getting people on their lanes. Maybe next year Peter a Victorian might win, we'll have to place some side bets in 2004 8)

To be honest I was a little surprised I won, to jump off a 8 hr flight, bowl in other people's backyards, armed with 1 bowling ball and a pair of shoes and be successful is hard work irrelevant of who you are and where you bowl. Matty O'Brien is a real talent and is in for a big future, he pushed me to the end, he bowled very well. Not to mention countless other Victorians who I had never seen before who could play. It really opened my eyes, you guys obviously have more depth in your state than people give credit for (including me).

I'll be back next year given the opportunity, I'll book myself on the 9.05pm instead after missing my 7.05pm :D See everyone at the AO

G

Extra entries is not a bad thing but this did put us back a bit in time. We are already working on a revised format to avoid this next year.

Actually, running late was a deliberate ploy to make you miss your plane and force you to reside in Victoria for another week and bowl in our Rachuig trials next weekend.

Werribee and I were both fleeced. Well Done!

Perhaps, I'd better put some money on a Vic for AO? Hint, hint! I hear there's a handy left handed female bowler entered again.

Yes congrats to all involved in the Werribee Cup on the weekend. It was a good day all round, maybe next year i'll give everyone a better run for their money. Well done again George, it was a fantastic effort to walk off a plane at 7.30am that morning to bowl as well as you did.
Should I pencil in a pick-up at 8.00am from the airport for you next year? :D

congrats to the victors

id like to congratulate george and jerome and some wonderful performances throughout the day. both are well deserved winners of the cup. was wonderful how george came straight off the plan to take it and to jerome well done on his come back from behind voctory to win by 1 pin in the overall pin fall well done guys.

It's hard to tell if I'm laughing or crying!

nice work on ur win George...great to see that QLD is still dominating the stakes everywhere...lol.

Rumor?????

Funny thing that George got the new hair do [he calls it style] and was then suddenly gone from Queensland all at about the time that Mardi Gras was on?????   Could be just coincidence!!!!!!!   :?:

Since the new colour, Southgate 1st, Weribee 1st, Storm Challenge Philiipines -13th. Looks like the blonde is here to stay, best change to my game I have made in ages. Sorry to dissappoint you Dave, no mardi gras for me. As for the photo, the good looking blonde, well thats Eddi! Blondes do have more fun. Might have to get my regrowth touched up before the AO....... :D

G

PS Milkie, there is only a few of us who can pull off the dark hair / blonde transition, I'm afraid your not one of them :D See you at the AO buddie, nice perm by the way 8)

George, looking at the photo, im pretty sure that u cant pull off the dark hair/ blonde hair transition :p , but it looks better than the Cameron Jenkins effort, see you all at AO
